Senior Ruby Developer / Team Lead

Medeo is a web and mobile software application that connects doctors and patients through video conferencing technology.  We are bringing innovation to the Canadian healthcare industry.  We are building a clean and collaborative interface and looking for a Senior Ruby Developer to lead the team.

As the Senior Ruby Developer / Team Lead, you will be leading a team of Ruby Developers at our Vancouver office.  We employ Agile Development and release at least once per week.  You will be responsible for leading the sprint planning sessions, managing and mentoring your team, and troubleshooting the difficult challenges that will inevitably occur.  You will work alongside a Product Manager who has over 20 years of development experience and a Chief Product Officer and Chief Executive Officer who have already built two very successful startups.

What we’re looking for (must have):

• You need to love what you do. Being passionate about your work is more important than a fancy CV.
• You have an expert command of the Ruby language including experience building real applications that are in use today.
• Ability to collaborate with, lead and mentor a team.
• Extensive experience building, maintaining and deploying production Rails applications.
• Good communication skills

• iOS development, Android development, JRuby, Java
• Experience with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, mobile web
• Devops experience, especially with Chef.
• Experience scaling Ruby on Rails for high traffic.

• Lives in Vancouver, BC or would be willing to relocate
